"I think he'll live to be 50."

KBS N Sports commentators Kim Tae-gyun (42) and Kang Min-ho (39, Samsung Lions) took a look at players who could become permanent fixtures in the future through Kim's YouTube channel, Kim Tae-gyun [TK52], on Wednesday. Oh Seung-hwan (42, free agent) was not left out.

In 668 career KBO games, Oh has a 41-24 record, 17 shutouts, 400 saves, and a 2.06 ERA. He became the first KBO pitcher to reach 400 saves, making him the league's all-time leader in that category. He is the all-time saves leader despite being away from the game from 2014 to 2019, playing in Nippon Professional Baseball and the Major Leagues. 바카라사이트

He has 522 career saves (80 in Japan and 42 in the United States). He is the best closer in Korean baseball history. Kang Min-ho said, "Seung-hwan should be my brother." Kim Tae-gyun said, "If he doesn't become a permanent closer, who should? Kim Tae-gyun said he would like to see Seung-hwan extend his career, and Kang Min-ho said, "If I look at him from the sidelines, he can still do it."

Oh finished the 2023 season with a 4-5 record, two shutouts, 30 saves, and a 3.45 ERA in 58 games. He had a down year, but he still managed 30 saves. Kim Tae-gyun said, "People say his age is a problem, but he still throws in the mid-140s at that age."

Kang Min-ho said, "What's even more interesting is that even though he had a bad year, he still made 30 saves. It's not easy at all." Kim Tae-gyun also said, "Young pitchers can throw 150 kilometers and still not get 30 saves if you look at their ERA (in the 3s)."

It's no wonder that Oh isn't in his prime. His fastball has been hitting the center of the plate for a while now, but that doesn't mean he can't get hitters out in the KBO. He still pitches smartly, using his changeup more often and utilizing his fastball when he's feeling good.

His hardware is still there. Kim Tae-gyun said, "If you look at his body, I think he'll play until he's 50 (years old). He's very good at managing." Kang Min-ho also said, "He's very good at managing. He's naturally athletic, so his skills don't seem to age."

Kang Min Ho even said, "When I play catcher, I can feel my pitching getting worse as I get older, but Seung Hwan is still the same." This means that even though he has come down from the heavenly realm to the earthly realm, he still cannot be compared to ordinary closers.

Seung-hwan Oh is currently in free agency. He's agreed to a contract with Samsung, but the details of the deal seem to be in dispute. However, no one believes that Oh will leave Samsung. Kim Tae-gyun and Kang Min-ho also predicted that a permanent deal is likely, as the prerequisite is so obvious.
